The movie is essentially a platform for Snipes to have fun with his most well-known character. And he does so with very engrossing results. The movie has reasonably well rounded characters, suspicion piled on top of everyone, some incredible position pieces and a wonderful sense of humour. The impact of all the blood and guts is reduced by the sure fantasy of the fights (wires and SFX a lot of the time), but its smooth handsome remarkable.

I notion the terrible guys in this movie were the best, and my hat comes off to the make-up artists. All in all, Blade 2 was a tremendous movie, with awesome action scenes, tight unpleasant guys, and a superb situation.

Video: FUNimations claims this is a widescreen transfer from the unusual video. Dragonball Z fans are screaming the modern video was cropped to compose it widescreen. I’ve spent the last 2 days with WinDVD and Photoshop to confirm or disprove this. Anyone who does image editing knows that cropping a 4:3 image to 16:9 can be really dramatic. After watching 67 episodes of this original release from FUNimation, I wasn’t completely convinced about the transfer being cropped from it’s recent 4:3 aspect ratio. Dragonball Z fans are apt to say the widescreen transfer is cropped, but they also would need to admit to that the 4:3 broadcast we fans know and cherish was also cropped! The widescreen transfer has extended video on the left and correct that was cropped for the fresh 4:3 TV broadcast some 18 years ago. A time when 4:3 televisions were standard. In current times, 16:9 televisions have taken over, and we’re grand more widescreen oriented. The unusual animation aspect ration I got when I was done sizing and layering the images over each other from the 4:3 and 16:9 gave me a 16:11 aspect ratio. This my Dragon Ball Z fans… Seems to be the Recent size. 16:11 though won’t observe all that huge on any TV situation. Also makes sense though since animators fabricate the unique larger so when transferring the animation to video, there’s room to play with so you don’t have random spots missing on the sides, top and bottom. So if you have to ask yourself if this is a legitmate 16:9 transfer or some 4:3 cropped (cut/edited) video, the proper retort is… It’s a legimate 16:9 transfer. Both the 4:3 and the 16:9 are cropped from the current… In the slay, it depends on personal preference.
The video was supposedly cleaned up, and the colors remastered. Personally, For the most section, I scrutinize an increased brightness on the video, which actually does behold better. They did smart up the video and removed grain and video noise. All in all, the remastered relate looks better compared to the new DVDs that FUNimation released.

Audio: I can’t say worthy about the sound quality since I’m using my computer for the time being. Objective moved, and have yet to hook up my home theater again. FUNimation is releasing this with 3 settings. The unique Japanese language and music. Nothing seems to have changed between the fresh DVDs and this release. For those who scrutinize DBZ subbed only, I peer no change at all. The second option is the English dub with the Japanese music. This is actually quite sharp, and I give credit for this addition! In this rare instance, I have always like the dubs for Dragon Ball Z, so having the option to glimpse it with the unusual music is broad. If that isn’t enough though, this novel procedure to look the series is in Dolby Digital 5.1. Then there’s the third option which is the English dub with the US music done by Bruce Faulconer in stereo. I guess doing this in 5.1 would have taken too distinguished time.
The dub was also redone for whatever reason. After comparing the modern DVDs vs the current ones, the older ones sometimes seem a bit more consistent with what was originally being said. One hastily example would be this…

Why FUNimation went out of the map to do a whole novel dub, I have no view… This seems to be wasteful of production time, or maybe they can’t utilize the unique dub anymore. Why FUNimation does anything at times is beyond my belief. They have time to redub the series, but they can’t beget the English dub with the US music in 5.1…
The menus on these discs are light years ahead of the fresh DVDs FUNimation released, with mighty more chapter points, and the MARATHON option which allows you to gawk all the episodes on a disc straight through without the opening/closing between the episodes. More like watching a movie than episode after episode, having to skip after each one.
The packaging of the discs in the case is rather nice. Seems upon collection the series, you can line them up for a tremendous “DRAGONBALL Z” title! Each season comes with a runt booklet with character information, episode information, etc.
Also want to mark that according to FUNimation, this video was remastered on HD 1080/24p. This doesn’t mean the discs are HD and can optimize the unusual HDMI 1.3, but it does display that 1080/24p mastering is being done, and we’re probably not far off from seeing this mighty more commonly done and seeing HDDVDs with loyal 1080/24p video as TVs are now coming out with HDMI 1.3.
I hope this information helps people looking to possibly remove this series or in the case I’m in, select it again for the remastered video and widescreen version. Also worthy more compact compared to dozens of standard DVD cases!
Giving this 4 stars. Why not 5? Because there is calm room for improvement. The fresh dub doesn’t always seem to fit, and in comparison to the trusty translation of what was being said, it’s like comparing unlit and white. FUNimation was always lousy about the dub translation, and there’s limited excuse for rebubbing the series and making it impartial as dreadful as the first time around. Making the English Dub with Japanese music 5.1, but the US music in 2.0 is another point away from me. While this doesn’t change anything for me, if they had the time to redub and upscale to 5.1 for the Japanese music, it seems to me they should have taken the time to upscale the US music track too. Sluggish? Additionally, they should have some tiny explanation of the widescreen transfer included. The extras on the discs are meaningless.
For the designate these unusual box sets go for… It’s an unbeatable deal for the series and Dragon Ball Z fans.
Let me launch off by saying this…If you are alarmed about buying this status because of the well known “cropping-issue” don’t be. It’s not nearly as abominable as most people obtain it out to be. I finished watching it and there was not one instance where I could point out that it had in fact been cropped from the unusual episodes. I had to go online and acquire the comparisons to even peek. So yes there is cropping but in my thought it in no design took away from the incredible experience of watching DBZ.
I deem what I like about this the most is that they have redone the divulge acting. You can now inspect the entire Dragon Ball Z series launch to conclude with the same divulge actors. That and the fact that you can procure most of these sets for $24.99 makes this a capture of a deal.

As for the choreographed action scenes–they are the best I have ever seen. Donnie Yen is honest outstanding! The film centers around a group of cops who have attempted to effect a crime boss named Po (Sammo Hung) slack bars. The National Geographic Channel, which is currently airing an equally outstanding documentary on the failures of hurricane Katrina, is now the best option on cable for this kind of ex post facto documentary. This film is its best work to date and should be in everyone’s library that enjoys gleaming what the hell is going on in the world.
I have about 12 9/11 DVDs and this one, without a doubt, is the best one. If you only want to acquire one 9/11 DVD, this is the one you want.

What sets “Top Gun” apart from similar military film fare of the 80s is its ability to combine a sense of the miraculous within the gritty world of tougher than tough obstacles.
